Sudan, Western Sahara/Morocco, China/Taiwan, North/South Korea, India/Pakistan, Israel/Palestine, or Polar Regions.  This is due on Wednesday in class along with your chapter 8 notes.

FOR CLASS ON 4/17 or 4/18:

Start by reading this article on the stateless nation of the Kurds.  After you read the entire article, conduct your own research to complete this template.

CHAPTER 8 "POLITICAL GEOGRAPHY" CORNELL NOTES DUE WEDNESDAY APRIL 26.

Students should study for the Unit 5 Culture test on April 6 or 7 in class.  The study guide can be found here.  Honors students should also be moving through their honors paper!

IF YOU ARE NOT IN CLASS ON 4/4 or 4/5:

Here are the directions for what we did in class today.  You are responsible for researching all of the cultural regions and filling in the other boxes from home.  I will collect the completed worksheet (linked below if you need another copy) on Thursday or Friday before the test.  There are also review questions on the directions page that you can use to review for the test.  I will be available to you during lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday if you need me.

IF YOU ARE NOT IN CLASS ON 3/23 or 3/24:

You need to conduct research on 3 cultural regions (I should have assigned these to you in class.  Otherwise you can choose 3 that interest you) on this research template.  Your options are Insular Oceanic, Anglo American, Latin American, European, Slavic, Islamic, Sub Saharan African, Sino-Japanese, Southeast Asian, and Austral European.  Bring your research to class after break - all the boxes should be filled in for the 3 that you research.  Do not delay on this!  The cultural regions are on the test the week after break, so you need to not fall behind over break.

UNIT 5 CREATIVE ASSIGNMENT DUE MARCH 13 or 14:

Read through these directions for your creative assignment for unit 5.  Please contact Ms. Broyles with any questions or if you get stuck.  I will be randomly calling on students to present; if you are not ready when I call you, your assignment will be considered late.  If you are showing a video or audio file, please email it to me the day before so that I can make sure that it will play on my computer.

HOMEWORK DUE MARCH 2 or MARCH 3

Read and take Cornell notes on Chapter 4.  I will collect your notes in class.

Options for Unit 4 test corrections are below (they have changed).  Remember that you can't do test corrections as homework.  If none of these will work for you this week, please come talk to me.

Unit 4 Exam will be Thursday February 16 or Friday February 17.  Here is the study guide.  Start studying right now! Studying is your homework over the weekend.  If you were absent from class on Thursday/ Friday, see me on Monday.

No additional new homework over the 1/28 weekend,

DUE MONDAY 1/23 or TUESDAY 1/24:

Make sure that you have proficient 4-level map analyses for all 7 of the maps (linked here).  I am looking for thoughtful analysis for each one.

ALSO, you need to complete your perfect paragraph to show me what you have learned from working through the 7 maps.  Your perfect paragraph needs to have an intro, thesis (AP+TP+3 categories), and evidence from at least three maps.  You can cite the evidence from the maps as follow:

Example: Cameroon spends almost 50% of its weekly income on just basic food needs. (Chart A)

The packet will be a process grade and the paragraph will be a product grade.

Don't forget your chapter 10 notes are due on Wednesday 1/25 and there will be an in-class reading quiz!

IF YOU MISSED CLASS ON 1/17 or 1/18:

Review these 7 agricultural maps and complete a 4-Level map analysis for each one.  The spots to complete the 4-Level map analyses are the final pages of this packet (after the maps).  There is not a spot for Map F, so here it is and you can just staple them all together.  We completed 5 of these maps in class today, so you can expect time to complete 2 more in class on Thursday/Friday.
